Is Your Workplace Ready For An Emergency?

workplace accidentsDriving along the highway to one of our first courses today, I passed cars from three separate businesses that we’ve trained in First Aid. As I passed them, I came to the realisation that if an accident or emergency were to happen at that moment in time, like the 4WD and Campervan that rolled near Taree today, I knew that help would be close at hand, just up the road. That thought was really reassuring.

The same principle and peace of mind also applies for workplaces and first aid training. By having staff trained in first aid, if an emergency happens at your workplace you know there is always someone there that can respond, help out and assist. Not only that, but those staff members are able to respond competently and confidently in dealing with the situation.

workplace-first-aiderHaving enough staff trained in First Aid at your workplace is also an important factor to consider. You need to ask yourself the question – does my workplace have enough First Aiders? Sometimes workplaces have only one employee trained in first aid. What if your designated First Aider is laid up in bed sick or away on holidays. Who’s going to respond then if something happens?

The saying “many hands make light work” also rings true for workplace First Aid. Whether it be performing CPR, caring for a spinal injury or just providing basic first aid, having a number of workplace first aiders make everyone’s job a whole lot easier. It can also sometimes mean better care and First Aid is provided to the casualty.

Everyone can agree that accidents are not expected and they can happen at any time, at any place and to anyone, so it pays to be prepared. Get prepared today and organise some First Aid training for your workplace. We’re available to deliver First Aid training both onsite or offsite to your group, big or small. Simply send us an email info@coastalfirstaid.com.au and we will be in touch to discuss your options.
