provide first aid assessmentsThere are a number of new changes to the Provide First Aid course. Provide First Aid now has an increased focus on the practical application of first aid techniques. Participants will have more hands on time to put what they have learned into practise in a simulated classroom environment. This also includes mandatory, formal assessment on many of the practical skills involved with the course.

Provide First Aid also includes changes to the CPR component of the course. In the Provide First Aid course, participants will now be required to complete CPR assessments on both adult and infant manikins. The Adult CPR must now be completed on the floor, and infant CPR must now be completed on a hard surface. As part of the assessments, participants will be required to perform at least four minutes of uninterrupted CPR from start to finish, on each manikin (8 minutes in total).

Overall the changes to the Provide First Aid course will ensure participants are prepared and ready to deliver First Aid and manage emergency situations in their workplace or public. It will ensure participants are competent in all of the practical skills included in the course and required to care and treat First Aid casualties in these situations.
