Team Coastal First Aid Wins Basketball Final

A big congratulations to the girls in Coastal First Aid’s all-girls basketball team. The girls won a gripping final this week in Taree Basketball Association first division competition. Going into the match as under dogs, the girls won 23-22 over runner’s up Sunne Printing. Well done girls!

Match report fromTaree Basketball Association

“Sunne Printing and Coastal First Aid played a tightly contested game in the first division final with no more than four points separating the two teams at any stage of the battle. Coastal First Aid led 9-8 at the end of the first quarter, were up 15-11 at the long break and then had to resist a determined charge from Sunne Printing as they worked hard to reduce the margin back to just 1 point at three quarter time. Points were hard to find in the last 10 minutes with Bobbi Domjen and Yvette Wilkinson scoring 2 point baskets for Coastal First Aid and with Kate Northam and Taryn Dixon doing the same for Sunne Printing the final siren found Coastal First Aid ahead by the narrowest of margin to take the crown 23 to 22.

Yvette Wilkinson (11) and Bobbi Domjen (10) were the only players on court to hit double figure points and their efforts were instrumental in the Coastal First Aid win. Kate Northam led the way for Sunne Printing with 8 points and received good support from Taryn Dixon who finished with 5 points.”
