The man that came to the aid of a shark attack victim has today been recognised for his life saving efforts. Aaron Wallis, of Crowdy Heads NSW, has been nominated for a News Limited Pride of Australia award for his bravery in saving the life of Dave Pearson, after he was attacked by a Great White Shark on the Mid North Coast in March of last year.
After the shark attack it was Mr Wallis who was able to paddle Mr Pearson to shore, instruct others to call for an ambulance and provide First Aid to control the bleeding of the victim’s severed arm. Mr Pearson thanked Aaron for his efforts stating “If it wasn’t for the actions of Noddy (Aaron) I was in major trouble. He saved my life.”
