Stranger Revives Snorkler With CPR

A stranger from the crowd, has revived a man using his CPR skills and has left the scene before he could be thanked. The incident occurred yesterday near the Kiama Blowhole where a snorkeller became unconscious and had to be rescued.

A passer-by came to the snorkeller’s aid and started delivering chest compressions. The bystander performed CPR on the man and successfully revived him before paramedics arrived. An ambulance spokesman has stated that “this (incident) highlights how important it is for members of the public to know CPR and first aid. This man is alive because a member of the public had these skills.” Read more
